Small black spots on the surface that look insignificant, with long trails of black inside leading the the core, which is often full of insect frass and debris by harvest. The fruit look sound from the outside until seriously damaged inside. I have not been able to learn what the insect is--possibly plum curculio. Everyone in my area has suffered from the same insect. Pretty much ruins the crop.Shelooliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05876545547947247571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4476190367076399004.post-6528188951424163622010-08-31T23:48:05.322+10:002010-08-31T23:48:05.322+10:00This was a very informative article! He took off ALL the low, side branhes and left the skyward pointing ones! I've since gone back and repruned it but I wonder if I was too late this season (got to get in earlier here in Qld, less Spring come too soon).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
