Small Miracles

It doesn't matter how many times I see it; whenever seeds come up, I feel the same sense of wonder.

Hi Chookie!

You got many good ideas what I should write about :)

Shortly I reply in your comment box:

I grow just garden plants that I have bought or plants are from my friends. I do grow some native plants, usually woodland plants, but they are very common and collected from our forest. You need to ask land owners premission if you want to collect plants from someone elses forest.

Endangered plants has to left in the forest, because law says so. Some plants are so rare that collecting the flowers you break the law, because few native endangered plants are protected by law.

These native perennials are endangered in Finland:

There is list that includes mushrooms, mosses, lichens and algas.

I plant many shrubs than possible to get birds in the garden. And we have homes for the birds too. Well Tassu eats few birds in summer.. :( I love butterflies and we have them a lot. Passing summer wasn't a good year for butterflies. Because we have a natural pond we got many insects, like dragonfly.

Next spring/summer is good time to look my garden weeds :D I hope that you patient about that :)

Bigger garden: Flying squirrel is an endangered animal in Finland, and that creature lives 20 meters away from our home. :)

Now I need to stop :D

It never fails! Every time they come up I'm in awe but if they don't a tad less so. ;-)

I envy the bright summer these seedlings have to look forward too. Mine will be shivering in a cold frame.
